For this new build in Sheepscombe, Gloucestershire, the brief was to ‘avoid the Barratt homes look’.
I interpreted this brief in two ways. Firstly, making sure the materials used were traditional to the local area - in this case Cotswold stone. Secondly, the stonework needed to look neat and well-constructed while retaining a sense of it being carefully crafted.
